I am an author, blogger, mother, wife and creator. I also love Jesus with all my heart. I was born in the year 1986 in West Palm Beach, Florida. I’ve also occupied Ohio, Alabama, Kentucky and currently Texas. I have been married for seven years and I have two little boys (ages 7 & 6). I love to create things. If I’m not writing, you will find me sewing, crocheting, painting, taking photographs or doing something crafty. For those interested in a random fact, I love pasta.
Before taking writing seriously, I went to nursing school. I enjoyed nursing, but it just wasn’t my dream. I’ve also had several other miscellaneous jobs, none that are worth a direct mention. After my husband enlisted in the military, I decided to enroll in school for creative writing and just go for it. My first poem was published when I was in High School, but I never thought much of it. It was a small online site, and quite frankly, I wasn’t too sure it was really any good. However, I had another poem published in the spring of 2012 and it was followed shortly with the publication of my first short story. For the first time, I felt like I was on the right track. I’ve struggled at finding my way and I’ve been spending a lot of time praying in hopes of finding out exactly what it is that God wants me to do with this gift.
I am a few months from graduation, and I am currently editing my first completed novel. I have received so many rejections, I’ve lost count. Rejections are inevitable, but somewhere along the way, there’s an acceptance. That’s why I keep doing this. The 1% that says yes, makes up for the 99% that say no. Oh, and when you get that yes, man, it feels good.
I blog here to share my writings, writing tips, love of God and my adventures in parenting. All of these things are important to me but the most important of all is my love for God. I hope that it shines through in everything that I say and do.
“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
-Ernest Hemingway
